TORINO: Alpine: Paerson angry over security mixup at combined slalom start{mosimage}SESTRIERE, Italy – Anja Paerson of Sweden criticized the security agents at the start of the Olympic women’s combined Friday after they refused to let her serviceman into the start hut just before the slalom at Sestriere.

‘Every time with the Olympic Games it is something’ said Paerson after the two slalom runs were complete. ‘On the first run people who should not be allowed at the start are at the start, trying to do something.’

Paerson got angry at security agents when they refused to let Ales Sopotnik enter the tent at the start of the slalom to help her click into her skis, adjust her goggles and move into the start gate. ‘I could not go over there next to her and prepare the skis’ said Sopotnik.

‘All the other people were inside, like soldiers and police, and for me there was no room’ said Sopotnik. ‘It was a little pathetic. That was kind of the Italian show. It probably disturbed Anja a little bit, but tomorrow is a different day.’

Paerson yelled at the security agents, who were huddled in the warm tent.

‘She saw it and she got really pissed and mad’ said Sopotnik. ‘She said, that’s not right, let my serviceman in, and he was like, no he cannot be in, and she was like, what are you talking about?’
