TORINO: Alpine: Lindsey Kildow crashes in training; and is evacuated from slope{mosimage}SAN SICARIO, Italy – Lindsey Kildow crashed in the second Olympic women’s downhill training run on Monday. She was evacuated from the slope in a sled, and flown by helicopter to Torino.
Kildow had completed most of her run when she got compressed between two small knolls and fell awkwardly to the ground, sliding to a stop on her back.
Carole Montillet of France, Elisabeth Goergl of Austria and Allison Forsyth of Canada also crashed hard in their runs.
While the women were training in San Sicario, the men were in Sestriere for the seeding run for Tuesday’s combined race. Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway was the fastest on the Kandahar Banchetta downhill slope.
