TARVISIO, Italy — Swiss skier Dominique Gisin tore ligaments in her left knee in a crash Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season.
The 21-year-old Gisin lost control while landing the final jump on the Prampero course in a downhill training session. She skidded down the course on her back and crashed into the safety netting.
Gisin was fifth in the downhill standings. She was the runner-up in the downhill in Altenmarkt, Austria, last month for her best career result and placed fifth in the downhill at the World Championships in Are, Sweden, earlier this month.
Gisin has already had six operations on her right knee.
