Austrian skier Renate Goetschl skipped a World Cup super combi race Friday to rest her injured knees.
''She's OK, but she will not start today. She will start tomorrow,'' Austrian Alpine Director Hans Pum said.
Goetschl hurt both knees Thursday when she crashed in downhill training, losing control midway through her run and sliding down the slope with her right ski dragging behind her.
She still has the chance to clinch the season downhill title Saturday. Goetschl has a 134-point lead over Julia Mancuso of the United States in the discipline standings, with only one more downhill remaining after this weekend.
Goetschl, who has already clinched the super G crown, was second in the overall World Cup standings entering three days of racing this weekend — a super combi Friday, a downhill Saturday and a super G on Sunday. She is 33 points behind teammate Marlies Schild.
