Steamboat to host 2006, 2007 NASTAR championships{mosimage}The Steamboat Ski Area in Steamboat Springs, Colo., will be the official host site for the 2006 and 2007 NASTAR National Championships.
The NASTAR National Championships is the culmination of a season-long competition at 120-plus premier ski resorts in North America. The event has been held for the past four seasons at Park City Mountain Resort in Park City, Utah, which saw participation increase from 717 competitors in 2002 to 1,071 competitors this past season with more than 3,400 winter sports enthusiasts in attendance. In 2005, competitors ages 3 to 86 from 43 states and Canada, representing 101 of the nation’s top resorts, competed in age and gender categories for the chance to win a national title. The NASTAR National Championships continues to be recognized as the world’s largest competitive alpine ski race.

Steamboat is truly excited to showcase all that they have to offer with the NASTAR community. Next season’s NASTAR National Championships will be an event not to be missed.’
Kicking off in mid-November at 120+ resorts throughout the country, ski and snowboard enthusiasts racing NASTAR will have the opportunity to qualify for the NASTAR National Championships through season-long resort rankings. The three day competition will take place March 23-26, 2006, at Steamboat Ski Area and will bring together top recreational ski and snowboard racers of all ages and abilities from across the country to compete for national titles and enjoy three days of spirited competition, first-class skiing and hospitality, partying and fun. In addition to exciting competition, racers will have the chance to hang with a few of ski racing’s all-time greats, including four-time Olympian AJ Kitt. Dates for the 2007 NASTAR National Championships will be determined at a later date.
