U.S. snowboarder Kevin Pearce remains hospitalized after crashing while training in Park City, Utah Thursday (Dec. 31). He sustained a serious head injury though he was wearing a helmet at the time.

Pearce, a Norwich, Vermont native, was transported to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City where he is in critical but stable condition.

Friends and fans can follow updates and share their notes of support through a fan site started by family and friends on his Facebook Fan Page. The page Well Wishes to our Friend Kevin Pearce, will be updated by family and friends with news as soon as it is available allowing well wishers to stay in tune with his recovery progress.

“Kevin remains in critical but stable condition. Today was considered a good day for him. We need your prayers and thoughts the next few days as we anticipate these to be critical to Kevin’s recovery,” read an update on the site yesterday. “He is surrounded by his family and Frends, and LOTS of love and positive energy. Kevin is a fighter and we are continually reminded of that with each hour that passes.”
