The win puts in her in the lead of the World Cup snowboardcross standings.

“It’s good to be back on top again,” Jacobellis said. “It was a very fast course and there were few lines you could take, so it made it extremely aggressive in the heats.”

The result was her 15th career World Cup victory. Second went to Canadian Dominique Maltais followed by Zoe Gillings (GBR) in third.

Jacobellis will not be competing in the World Championships starting next week in Korea. “I want to go home and relax and get my legs ready so I can be fresh and give it my best for X Games,” Jacobellis said. “It’s a very long glidy course that takes a lot of leg strength and there are huge jumps so you need all the help you can get.”

On the men’s side, it was Graham Wanatabe leading the Americans in fourth place after a penalty bumped him out of the top spot.

“Graham was making passes all day and nobody was making passes. He passed on the inside and it looked clean. But on the video you could see that he just barely ran over the gate. But, it was amazing how well he rode all day,” U.S. Snowboarding Head Coach Peter Foley said.

Close behind Wanatabe were teammates Seth Wescott (6th), Nate Holland (7th) and Shaun Palmer (8th).

Australian Damon Hayler took the victory ahead of Austrian Markus Schairer in second and Canadian Mike Robertson in third.

Most U.S Snowboarding snowboardcross athletes will now go to Gangwon, Korea for World Championships Jan. 18.
