Schild, Raich expecting first child

Skiing power couple Marlies Schild and Benni Raich announced via Facebook on Thursday that they are expecting their first child together.

“I was able to experience many beautiful things which I am very thankful for,” Schild wrote. “But to feel this new wonder is unique. We are looking forward to a new part of our lives.”

After Schild’s retirement in September 2014, pregnancy speculations were running rampant. Following their wedding on April 25, the two ski champions will now truly turn over a new chapter in their lives. How this will influence Raich’s decision to continue his career or not remains to be seen.

“I’m looking forward to the fall… we are very happy and enjoying this exciting and beautiful time!” Raich exclaimed on his Facebook page.
