Nordic Combined: France’s Lamy Chappuis takes second Cup win in Ramsau
French nordic combined skier Jason Lamy Chappuis won his 16th career World Cup competition today (Dec. 11) in Ramsau, Austria.
Lamy Chappuis stood second after the jumping portion, then secured the win with a four hundredth of a second advantage on second-place finisher, Norway’s Magnus Krog. Austrian Mario Stecher finished third with the eight-best jump and tenth-fastest cross country race.
“I’m very happy that I’m back to victory,” said Lamy Chappuis. “I had a great weekend with second and first place in Ramsau. Of course, I’m glad to wear the yellow bib again. It is so familiar to me.”
Todd Lodwick led a team of four American starters in 23rd, followed by Bill Demong in 26th.
Lamy Chappuis now owns the yellow, overall leader’s bib with a four-point advantage on Germany’s Tino Edelmann (Fourth today).
