Summer Fun Nationals are on the horizon for masters racers. The 19th annual Rooly Summer Fun Nationals is at Mount Hood, Oregon, from July 20-22. Soak up lots of sun and enjoy the snow. Government Camp is hopping with ski and equipment companies offering their latest gear.

    At Hood, all racers with current 2008 masters membership will receive a masters Ski Racing ballcap. Any that join for the season at the event also will get the 2008 masters hat.

FIS masters equipment rule changes
After a lot of lobbying by USSA, FIS masters has changed equipment rules to the following.
1. The present specifications as the length and radius of skis are changed to be recommendations (Exception: The ski length in super G may not be less than men 185 cm and women 180 cm.
2. Rules concerning the maximum height of ski/plates are recommended. The heights are reduced as follows. Maximum distance from bottom to boot sole: 50 mm Maximum from boot sole to base of foot: 45mm.The key word is recommended.
