Club ski jumper Nina Lussi has moved into the final four of nominees for the Sports Illustrated for Kids 2008 Sports Kid of the Year Award.
CLUB SKI JUMPER Nina Lussi has moved into the final four of nominees for the Sports Illustrated for Kids 2008 Sports Kid of the Year Award.
    Online voting determined which four of the final six nominees would advance to the final four, and when voting concluded on Monday the 14-year-old Lussi was left standing along with a 7-year-old multisport athlete from New York, a 15-year-old fencer from Washington D.C. and a 14-year-old track and field athlete from Iowa.
    Lussi, who competes out of the New York Ski Education Foundation, was highlighted by Sports Illustrated for Kids for winning the 2008 Junior National Ski Jumping Championships at the Junior Olympics in Ishpeming, Mich., last March.
    The winner will grace the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids as well as win a trip to New York City to attend the Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year awards. Online voting for Sports Kid of the Year continues through noon ET on Monday, Oct. 6, to determine who will advance to next week’s head-to-head final.
