The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club (JHSC) announced Brian Krill as the club’s new executive director. Most recently, Krill played a pivotal role at the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) in establishing the Club Development Program and as director of sport education. He is a level 300 USSA alpine coach and has worked closely with the national team’s staff as well as clubs in every USSA sport.

“We are extremely excited for Brian to lead JHSC into the future,” said Jim Coleman, JHSC Board President. “Brian’s skill set is unique, and he will bring a wealth of knowledge in the areas of club development, student-athlete education, non-profit management, and program and coach advancement.  Brian has spent the last several years traveling the country to assist USSA clubs develop strategic initiatives to be the best clubs they can be.  We are very much looking forward to working with Brian to bring JHSC to the next level.  Brian is eager to build on the positive momentum the club has created through its successful ‘Building Our Base’ campaign to ensure early season skiing at Snow King Mountain.  Brian believes strongly in continuing and enhancing the club’s programs to best serve our athletes at all ages and ability levels.”

In just over three years with the USSA, Krill was instrumental in various aspects of the USSA’s Sport Education programs. He first served as club development manager where he developed and deployed USSA’s club development program, including a new model for club certification. Thirty-six clubs have participated in the program to date, and equally as many are using the process and resources to guide their club toward improvement and eventual certification. Krill was promoted to director of sport education in 2015 where he continued to oversee club development and certification, coaches’ education, and the annual Club Excellence Conference.

The sport education and club development programs put in place by Krill will continue after his departure. There are several clubs on deck to complete the club certification process in the 2016-17 season.

“My time with USSA has been inspiring, and I am very proud of the work that we all did to further establish club development at USSA during a critical phase,” said Krill. “I’m looking forward to staying in the USSA family, remaining active with various USSA programs and focusing on the club, athletes, coaches, and parents in Jackson.”

USSA is currently accepting applications to fill the director of sport education position. Interested parties should submit their resume to humanresources@ussa.org.
