Karnicar started with the project in October 2000, when he skied from the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest (8.850 meters – Asia). He also challenged Mount Kilimanjaro (5.894 m – Africa) in November 2001, Mount Elbrus (5.642 m – Europe) in May 2002, Mount Aconcagua (6.969 m – South America) in January 2003, Mount Kosciusko (2.230 m – Australia) and Mount McKinley (6.193 m – North America).

To conclude the project successfully, Karnicar will challenge the last summit, Mount Vinson (5.140 m) in the lifeless Antarctic, this November/December 2006.

From his start on Everest, Elan has been an integral part of Karnicar’s quest. For his final attempt, he will depart from his traditional touring ski to one from Elan’s growing freeride series. Karnicar is confident and awaiting the challenges that only the cold Antarctic present.
