Junior Olympics: Team nordic combined and jumping results from Anchorage

 Nordic skiing competition continued Friday at the 2009 Tyson Junior Olympics in Anchorage, Alaska.

The Rocky Mountain (RMD) team of Mary O’Connell and Madison Keeffe won the girl’s nordic combined team sprint event. The Intermountain Division’s (IMD) Sarah Hendrickson and Kamber Kissell took second, followed by the mixed team of Nina Lussi of the East Division and Emily Hannah of the RMD in third.

The Boy’s nordic combined team sprint event saw the IMD’s Tyler Smith and Hyrum Bailey take the victory. Aleck Gantick and Erik Lynch of the RMD were just behind in second, followed by Jack Novak And Raymond Wonders of the Alaska Division in third.

The IMD team of Will Rhoads, Hendrickson and Bailey won the “boy’s” team jumping event. The Central team of Conner Jacobsen, AJ Brown, Brain Wallace and Christian Friberg landed second, while the RMD team of Ben Berand, Jake Barker, Aleck Gantick and Lynch rounded out the podium in third.

The only team to compete in the girl’s team jumping event was the RMD team of Hannah, Keeffe and O’Connell. They won.

The action in Anchorage continues today with elimination jumping.
