Bridget Currier collected the women’s giant slalom title at the Mariott J3 Junior Olympic eastern championships at Sugarloaf, Maine today (March 17) in no uncertain fashion. The young Burke Mountain Academy skier from Meredith, NH, scorched the field in both runs to post an amazing 2.32 seconds margin of victory.

The silver medal will go to New York with Saranac Lake resident and NYSEF member Cecily Decker recording the second fastest two run time on the day. Olivia Gerrard, Burke and Westport, Conn., got her second bronze medal of the JIII-East title meet. She scored third place in the super G March 15 as well.

Nina O’Brien from the Burke program was fourth while Killington Mountain School skiers Ali Price, Rutland Vt., and Piper Jenne, Bridgewater Corners, Vt., placed fifth and sixth respectively.
