After a decade of leading the Sugar Bowl Ski Team Foundation (as executive director) former ski team athlete Bill Hudson has decided to step down and search out his next challenge.

“My current role has brought me great satisfaction,” Hudson said, “but as I look ahead at my personal and professional journey I am eager to stretch myself in new ways.”

He said he was uncertain where that journey might lead, but did say he hoped to be able to stay in the Sugar Bowl area and continuing relationships with the Sugar Bowl Ski Team and the Sugar Bowl Academy.

“I am proud of the grit, grace and courage our ski team and academy athletes develop through our programs,” he continued. “The journey begins with our Mighty Mites braving the brutal and beautiful storm of Donner Summit. Watching them happily charging off to conquer Disney will be on of my fondest memories. … I am pleased that all of our members will face life’s challenges with a bit more gumption because of their SBSTF experience.”

Hudson will retain ties to the foundation after he officially leaves at the end of June, serving in an advisory capacity through the opening of the new Sugar Bowl Academy campus in December.

“I will always be proud to call myself a member of the Sugar Bowl community.”
