Hermann Maier injured in Birds of Prey; Libby Ludlow in hospital{mosimage}Defending World Cup overall champion Hermann Maier of Austria reinjured his right knee during Friday’s downhill race. Maier finished the race in tenth, and was on his feet in the finish area, but skipped the awards ceremony. Austrian alpine team director Hans Pum said Maier was being examined by team doctors to determine the extent of the injury.

Meanwhile Libby Ludlow of the United States crashed in Lake Louise and left the race course in a helicopter. There is no official word yet on her condition.
