Franz Voelkl dies at 87

This past Saturday, July 26, 2014 Franz Voelkl, son of Voelkl ski founder, who managed the business for over 40 years died at the age of 87. He was a passionate inventor and always the most enthusiastic ski tester. The company Voelkl was his life’s work. Started from humble beginnings in 1952, he eventually managed the business his father founded and led it to worldwide success.

The company issued a brief statement on Facebook saying, “We owe him a great debt of gratitude and are very proud to continue and further develop the company.”
