Former US Ski Team coach launches Team Erhard Racing

Former U.S. Ski Team Coach Thomas Erhard has announced the formation of Team Erhard Racing, a well-organized, full-time, project-based program designed to bring out the best possible performance of high-level FIS women who aspire to compete at the national team and NCAA Div. I levels. The home base for the program during the competition season will be northern Vermont, but the team will travel extensively both domestically and internationally.

Erhard’s focus is on the holistic development of great athletes by incorporating all aspects of physical, mental and skiing components. Individual strengths and weaknesses will be evaluated in the process of building an overall strategy for progress and performance success. Exposure to international skiing in both training and racing environments will enhance the experience and raise the intensity required to achieve top results.

The full program will consist of five on-snow preparation camps, conditioning camps, at-home conditioning programs, and equipment acquisition and setup. The competition period will target appropriate domestic and European FIS, FISU and NorAm projects. Athletes may participate in any one or number of the preparation or conditioning camps but must be fully enrolled for the entire competition season to participate in that portion. The number of athletes is intentionally limited to maintain a focused experience for each athlete who is accepted into a camp or to the full program.

Erhard’s background includes 28 years of coaching at clubs, academies, and national teams. He spent 13 years as a U.S. Ski Team coach for both men and women and at all levels from the National Training Group (NTG) to the World Cup. He has coached athletes to impressive and specific achievements including World Cup and Europa Cup podiums, World Junior medals, NorAm titles, and more. He understands what it takes to be successful at the highest levels of alpine ski racing and is bringing the full consideration of that experience to this new team.

Team Erhard Racing‘s mission is to develop aspiring national team and top-tier Div. I NCAA athletes.
