Recap
Now that was a fun week. … Top score on the week came from the suddenly resurgent Smokin’ Mirrors at 380, thanks largely to a 200-point output from Michaela Dorfmeister and hitting the slalom winner in Giorgio Rocca… and 80 from Bode Miller in the DH didn’t hurt anything either. The Mirrors got its first win over the Schwarzeneggers’ impressive 265 total, tied for fourth best on the week. The Schwarzeneggers gained pints from five of the six positions, grabbing 200 from Alexandra Meissnitzer in the SG slot. … Second-best tally on the week went to the league-leading Golden Ribbons at 303 powered primarily by Daron Rahlves with 225. The Ribbons took down the Destroyers 303-251, wasting another five-out-of-six-position scoring effort. … The second-place Bottle Rockets got the narrowest of victories, as the third-highest score of the week beat the fourth. Rockets beat the Hammers 266-265, a result that’s got to sting. The Rockets got both the Rahlves win in DH and the Miller win in GS, but got just 66 points from its two overall postions in Bennie Raich and Didier Cuche. Still, that was enough to oust the Hammers despite the best efforts of Lindsey Kildow, who contributed 185 all by herself. … Team PMS got 140 from Dorfmeister in the DH position to oust Rick’s Rangers 231-109, the Rangers taking a hit from the lack of production from Anja Paerson and Raich exiting the slalom. … The Birds of Pray sit third in the ranking with a 222-187 win over the Blacks. The Birds got 180 from Miller for the bulk of its points while the Blacks await the technical portion of the women’s schedule. … The Weekend Warriors, due to an alert pickup of Aksel Svindal prior to the week, got 131 from their acquisition as Svindal got points in all four races. Renate Goetschl added 59 and Rahlves 45 from the SG. Hawk’s Harem fell to that onslaught by 40 points despite 145 from Kildow in the DH position and 76 from Julia Mancuso.
