Week 12 recap
Team PMS continue to roll over all and any as the competition seems to seek shelter and not be concerned with scoring every time they come in contact with the league-leading squad. The team’s 200-point total was impressive only when placed beside the Ribbons’ paltry 36-point effort. Janica Kostelic, with the slalom win at Ofterschwang, led Team PMS, helped by 50 points from Nicole Hosp and 32 from Allison Forsyth in the GS. The Ribbons has 36 from Tina Maze and … notta.

Interosseous Membrane got the combined win from Benny Raich and 40 from Tanja Poutiainen in slalom to dispatch the amazingly unlucky Destroyers, which had their best contribution of the week with 50 points from Michael Walchhofer in the one event the men got in over the week, the Chamonix combined. The Destroyers reached 100 with help from Aamodt and Kostelic in GS.

The Blacks continues to look mighty impressive with the highest point total of the week at 230, including a two-podium result in the final slalom of the weekend, getting Kostelic in the slalom position and Marlies Schild’s third-place points in an overall spot. Throw in another 50 from Hosp in the GS hole and The Blacks decimated the hapless Schwarzeneggers, ladened with speed women who had no place to run for a weekly total of goose-egg.

The Birds of Pray got two only scores, but they were beauties with Bode Miller third in the combined and Anja Paerson’s second in GS. It was just enough to best the Smokin’ Mirrors, which got four scores, but one podium from Kathrin Zettel in the GS position and a 110 total to lose by 30.

Hawk’s Harem got past The Hammers by collecting points all over the place. Harem got 56 from Poutiainen in two races, 26 from Julia Mancuso, 12 from Sarah Schleper and the big win from Maria Jose Rienda-Contreras in GS for a 194 total, the third best of the week. The Hammers did get a podium out of Schild in the slalom position and had Kildow’s slalom points, but that was hardly enough to withstand the Hawk’s kept ladies.

The Weekend Warriors continued to show strength, this week with a two-podium performance out of Zettel for a buck-forty and 50 more from Didier Defago in the K.

That stopped Rick’s Rangers, which were severely stung when Anja Paerson straddled after winning the first run of the slalom. The Rangers still got 80 from the Swede for her GS performance but were throttled elsewhere with just 10 from Martina Ertl and 16 from Poutiainen in GS.
