QUEYRAS, France — Chris Devlin-Young (sit-ski) and George Sansonetis (standing) led the U.S. Disabled Alpine Team on Tuesday, both finishing third in their divisions.
QUEYRAS, France — Chris Devlin-Young (sit-ski) and George Sansonetis (standing) led the U.S. Disabled Alpine Team on Tuesday, both finishing third in their divisions.
    Devlin-Young finished behind winner Taiki Morii of Japan who won and Martin Braxinthaler of Germany in second. Sansonetis came in behind winner Thomas Pfyl of Switzerland and Gerd Schoenfelder of Germany in second.
    "George was not to be denied today. He laid it all out on the line and hammered through to a third place podium," head coach Ray Watkins said. "We're really excited for George and Chris. The spirit and morale on the team is really high."
    For the women, Laurie Stephens (sit-ski took fourth place at 2:35.11 and Allison Jones (standing) came in ninth at 2:26.62.
    Monday, Devlin-Young added another success to his giant slalom results when he took second place in a World Cup race in beautiful Queyras, France. He finished with an adjusted race time of 2:10.62 behind Morii.
    "As a team, we couldn't be more thrilled for Chris continuing his hot streak," Watkins said. "Chris' confidence level is high. He knows what he's doing and he's executing, which is what we expect him to do."
    In the men's standing race, Sansonetis came in fourth and Monte Meier followed for U.S. results in ninth.
    "We've got two more days to go and we just need to fight. We need to dig deep, get ready and get it done," Watkins said.
    World Cup races continue Thursday through Saturday in Queyras before the team returns to the states for the X-Games.
