Daron Rahlves victory speech, Birds of Prey downhill, 2005The following is the speech Daron Rahlves made from the podium after winning the Birds of Prey downhill on Friday

“Every time I come back to Beaver Creek, this is the one to step up and kick some ass on. Last couple years have been really good, and last year was my best loss, to Bode here. We really put it down hard. I just want to give it up for everyone here at Beaver Creek. The course crew this guy was shoveling with his shirt off in the Abyss today and I was laughing about that. You guys made it happen. I went to bed last night just knowing it was going to happen. I want to congratulate everybody here. They put down some fine runs, but I am stoked. It’s fun for me to be able to look around the crowd. I know you guys. I look around, and every third head, I could recognize. A lot of people from Tahoe. Michelle, my wife, my mom and dad, I love you guys. This whole crew over here from Tahoe and the Bay Area of California. Hell yeah.”
