CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy — Lindsey Kildow will miss Sunday's World Cup giant slalom after falling twice in the downhill.
''She's all right, it's nothing serious. She just feels beat up,'' U.S. Ski Team spokesman Marc Habermann said. ''And giant slalom is her worst discipline.''
Kildow was faster Saturday than downhill winner Renate Goetschl at the first split but then fell. She got back up, then had a more serious fall near the end of the course. Kildow tumbled down the slope before coming to a stop with her head face down in the snow.
''My butt's going to be sore, that's all,'' Kildow said after she got up and skied down to the finish area. ''I was just trying to turn the ski too aggressively and I lost control.''
Habermann said Kildow did not suffer any serious injuries.
''She just has some bruises and is going to take the day off,'' Habermann said.
Kildow's next races will be two super-G's and a downhill in San Sicario next weekend, on the course where she crashed in training at last year's Torino Olympics.
