Veteran Emily Cook jumped to a third-place finish Friday at the USANA Freestyle Cup in Lake Placid, N.Y. Cook threw three stunning jumps with solid landings, keeping her above the cut the entire night.

Mangtao Xu and Zongyang Jia, both of China, continued their winning streaks and possession of the Yellow Bib.

“I’m really happy to be on the podium again and even more so because it’s here in Lake Placid,” said Cook. “The incredible support structure that we’ve got here makes it feel like home. And to have such a big team here and such a young team cheering me on shows the depth and future of our sport.”

On the men’s side, Dylan Ferguson made it through the qualifying round. Ferguson ended the event in 12th, while teammate Mike Rossi had career best World Cup finish, taking eighth. Rossi threw a full, double-full, full (three flips, four twists) for only his third time on snow which qualified him into the next round

Aerials action will continue with another event Saturday.
