Bode Miller signs multi-year agreement with Nike{mosimage}Bode Miller has signed a multi-year agreement with Nike, the giant sports apparel and footwear company. The contract was finalized last week, as Miller was becoming the first American to win the overall World Cup title in 22 years.

“There are U.S. Ski Team guidelines that they are aware of,” said Lowell Taub of SFX Sports Group, one of Miller’s agents. “Whenever those agreements are not in effect, they expect him to wear Nike…They know that in the finish area and on the hill, he will be wearing Spyder.”

Nike may build an advertising campaign around Miller, as they often do with high-profile athletes in Olympic years. Miller is scheduled to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno later this month.

Miller already endorses Barilla pasta and Atomic ski equipment. He is associated with DeFeet socks, but will not appear in consumer advertisements. Catagories that are still open for business in 2005-2006 include timepiece, beverage and video game.
