World Cup men’s super G at Beaver Creek has been postponed due to weather conditions and in the interest of competitor safety.
The super G is now scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. The giant slalom will be staged as scheduled on Sunday, with the first run set for 9:45 a.m. Second run is 12:45 p.m.
The storm dropped 7 inches of new snow on the Birds of Prey racecourse by 7 a.m. Saturday and race officials made the decision to postpone the race to Monday following the jury inspection.  The snow is expected to continue on and off for the remainder of the day.
“We’re fortunate to be in a position to reschedule the super G to Monday,” explained Ceil Folz, president of the Vail Valley Foundation. “We want to make sure we have the best and safest possible conditions for the racers, so this is a good decision.  We want to thank everyone that has contributed to this event for their willingness to help us add an extra day to the program.”
