Beat Feuz injured in South America
The 2015 World Championship downhill bronze medalist Beat Feuz of Switzerland suffered a lower leg injury after straddling a gate during giant slalom training in Chile. On Monday, he traveled back to Switzerland for further medical examination of his leg.
The speed specialist left Switzerland on Aug. 23 for the training camp and was expected to remain in South America until mid September. But team doctor Walter O. Frey said skiing is not possible with Feuz’s current injury.
“It is a tendon/muscle injury to his right leg, which makes it impossible for skiing,” said Dr. Frey.
Swiss-Ski will provide an update on Feuz’s prognosis as it becomes available.
