Blick columnist Bernard Russi says the Swiss public is beginning to grow spoiled after the team put four men into the top 10 of the Lake Louise super G. Russi says while many consider super G a “stepchild” discipline, he sees it as the premier indicator of ability. “It concerns. … intelligence, line choice and fast decisions,” and, because of the lack of training runs, “there counts only being able, the instincts and conviction.”

Britain’s Chemmy Alcott told Euro-Sport she had an incident as a child skiing down a slope with her pants around her ankles. This isn’t ski news, but it’s too cool not to report. According to LaGazzetta dello Sport of Italy, Ferrari has developed a bobsleigh which will be unveiled at Vancouver. Can’t wait to see what that looks like, but you can bet it will be red.

Comcast had a video news clip of Anders Bardal’s massive 137m jump in the Kuusamo, Finland ski jump Nov. 29. He had a terrible first jump, though, and finished fifth for the contest, but the video was awesome.

A group of Austrian athletes are sleeping in “elevator tents,” or altitude simulation tents to prepare for the races at Beaver Creek. According to the German website Kurier, Mario Matt, Marcel Hirscher, Christian Noesig and Philipp Schoerghofer have all been using the tents for five nights to help adjust to the Colorado altitude and ease jet lag.
