“Sand. Snow. Grass.” That is the tagline for a new beerfest event being held Nov. 10th from 12-4pm at Civic Plaza in Albuquerque, New Mexico. But this isn’t your average event – it is a grassroots fundraising effort to support the UNM athletic programs cut by the UNM Board of Regents in July.

The brainchild of Jamie Schwebach, General Manager of Canteen Brewhouse and Danielle Ebaugh, President of Women Rise Albuquerque, “Save the Endangered Lobo” aspires to bring together citizens for a cause and demonstrate how New Mexico’s rich brewery culture can do good for our community.

The event will feature several local breweries and wineries, live music, merchandise, vendors, and more.

Proceeds will benefit the three teams in need of outside financial support in order to continue their respective programs – men’s and women’s skiing, beach volleyball, and men’s soccer.

The cost to attend is only $20 and includes a commemorative pint glass and five 4oz samples.

Local businesses are encouraged to donate to the cause and will enjoy brand exposure and goodwill, support educational and athletic development for a diverse group of student athletes and promote their organization’s support for the future of the cut UNM Athletic teams.
