The Canadian women confirmed their NorAm prowess at Aspen Dec. 1 with Marie-Pier Prefontaine going back to back with her second win at Aspen Tuesday. Marie-Michelle Gagnon who had DQ'd in the Monday race rolled into second behind her teammate Tuesday. Swiss skier Marianne Abderhalden was third, more than two seconds behind Prefontaine.

Megan McJames led the way for the host country in fourth. Jessica Kelley was the second American finishing the race in seventh. Grant Sterling posted 13th. JI skier Lauren Samuels, from the 60th start, finished 15th as the fourth best American racer.

Other top Canadians included Brigitte Acton in ninth, Anna Goodman in 12th and Erin Mielzynski in 16th.

Michael Janyk kept the Canadian NorAm win streak live by taking the second Loveland slalom. Croate Natko Zrncic-Dim got second and Norwegian Truls Ove Karlsen third, but Canada slammed five into the top 10 with Brad Spence taking fourth, Patrick Biggs sixth, Ryan Semple eighth and Jean-Philippe Roy, from the 32nd start, posted ninth.

The Americans had David Chodounsky in seventh and Nolan Kasper 10th.

It was a race of attrition as just 30 of 95 starters finished both runs, 49 going out in the first heat.
