U.S. racer TJ Lanning sustained a dislocated knee and a fractured neck vertebrae in his crash Saturday at Lake Louise according to reports from U.S. team Medical Director Richard Quincy.

Lanning crashed during the downhill at Lake Louise on the fastest portion of the course and did a forward somersault into the nets. Dr. Quincy reported this morning he dislocated his left knee and fractured the C5 vertebrae in his neck. Lanning was airlifted off the course to the Banff hospital and then was transferred Saturday night to Calgary. The ski team's medical services provider Global Rescue is scheduled to meet with doctors in Calgary Sunday to arrange a transfer to Vail Valley Medical Center and examined by the staff of the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic.

Lanning is no stranger to injury having broken his nose in 2006, torn meniscus in 2008 and an ACL at Kitzbuehel in 2009.
