Vancouver Olympic dream seems over for women ski jumpers
BREAKING NEWS-- Just moments ago both CTV Sports and The Globe and Mail issued a news bulletin, saying that the group of elite women ski jumpers that had filed a law suit against VANOC had lost their long battle to take part in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
The case was heard in the BC Court of Appeals by a three-judge panel, whose ruling was unanimous. Justice Ann Rowles, one of the three judges in the courtroom said written reasons would be given at a later date.
This has been over a three-year process, and several of the plaintiffs choked back tears upon hearing of the court's ruling.
