Washburn, Moeller nab overall Huntsman Cup championships{mosimage}PARK CITY, Utah - Brad Washburn (LW-4) and Germany's Reinhild Moeller (LW-4) were crowned champions as the Huntsman Cup wrapped up Thursday with a giant slalom. After two days of bad weather for the event, "It was a beautiful day and a good race," said Sandy Metzger, U.S. Disabled Ski Team program director.

It was a tight race for the women's standing skiers with less than a second difference between the top three. Moeller claimed today's victory with a two-run time of 2 minutes, .20 seconds. Closely following Moeller was Allison Jones (LW-2) in 2:00.80 and Sandy Dukat (LW-2) in 2:00.82.

Australia's Camero Rahls-Rahbula (LW-2) led the men's standing competition with a time of 1:50.65. Clay Fox (LW-4) moved up from Wednesday's third place to second with a time of 1:53.29. Aussie Toby Kane (LW-2) knocked Washburn out of the top three in 1:54.17. Although Washburn came in fourth in 1:55.06, his previous race scores were good enough for an overall victory.

U.S. skiers dominated the sit-ski giant slalom competition. Laurie Stephens (LW-12/1) and Stephani Victor (LW-12/1) came in first and second for the second consecutive day with times of 2:03.31 and 2:07.82. Lacey Heward (LW-11) took third in 2:11.40. Chris Devlin-Young (LW-12/1) led the men's standing competition with a two-run time of 1:52.02. Tyler Walker (LW-12/2) came in second with a time of 1:56.00 followed by Gerald Hayden (LW-12/1) in 2:01.60.
