Veerpalu, Bjorgen win classic 15K and 10K in Estonia{mosimage}OTEPAA, Estonia -- Andrus Veerpalu won his first World Cup race of the season before a home crowd on Saturday and women's overall leader Marit Bjoergen of Norway won for the sixth time.

Veerpalu took the men's 15-kilometer classic in 37 minutes, 17.1 seconds, finishing 42 seconds ahead of Norwegian Frode Estil and fellow Estonian Jaak Mae. Overall men's leader Axel Teichmann of Germany was fifth.

Bjoergen took home the 10K classic women's race, finishing in 27:20.2, followed by Hilde G. Pedersen of Norway and Katerina Neumannova of the Czech Republic. With the win, Bjoergen extended her overall lead in the World Cup to 230 points over Estonian Kristina Smigun. -The Associated Press
