Ahonen, who won at this site in 1993, 1999 and 2002, jumped 134 meters and 135 meters to edge Jakub Janda of the Czech Republic by 0.4 points. Martin Hoellwarth of Austria was third.

As he did Saturday, Janda made the best jump in the opening round, positioning himself for the Czech Republic's first World Cup victory in 10 years. But Janda again failed to capitalize, leaping 130 meters on his second attempt, 5 meters short of Ahonen's second effort.

Hoellwarth was third with 258.3 points after jumping 130.0 and 133.5. Ahonen leads the standings with 780 points, with Janda a distant second at 448 and Hoellwarth third at 397.-The Associated Press
