Swedish, Norwegian teams win sprint relays in Dusseldorf
The opening weekend of the FIS cross-country World Cup season took place in front of huge crowds on a short course created with manmade snow along the Rhine River in Dusseldorf.
German teams finished second in both the men's and women's events. The women's team was Uschi Disl and Claudia Kuenzel, and the men's runner-up team -- just 1.8 seconds off the winning time -- was Axel Teichmann and Tobias Angerer.
No American or Canadian teams competed.
