Bode Miller has confirmed his intent to race this coming World Cup season.
Miller has signed his U.S. Ski Team agreement, the first annual step on the path to being named to the team and racing on the Cup.
According to what is being said by the U.S. Ski Team's Head Men's Coach Sasha Rearick, it looks like he's preparing to have a strong season, and for Miller - a two time World Cup overall champion, four time Cup title winner with 32 race wins and multiple medals - a strong season means being a contender every race he enters.
"He was actually one of the first guys to turn his agreement in," said Rearick.
Miller will be 33 in October, but he did win three medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics - one of each color - despite missing the bulk of the preparation period and skiing himself into shape during the season. This year, Rearick says, he is enthusiastic about the up-coming season.
"Bode has achieved great things," said Rearick. "He is still motivated and he's training as hard as ever."
Which are words that have got be music to the ears of the ski team's hierarchy.
