St Moritz 2017 takes form
St Moritz 2017, the organizing committee for the 2017 FIS Alpine World Championships, was set last month with the election of the executive board and the project team.
Sigi Aspiron, the mayor of St Moritz, is joined on the St Moritz 2017 executive board by Urs Lehmann, the president of Swiss-Ski and by Tourism Engadin CEO Ariane Ehrat. The board will be chaired by Hugo Wetzel the president of Engadin St Moritz. He also led the bid committee.
An operational team will consist of five members heading key areas including construction, race organization, finances and marketing.
St Moritz previously hosted the championships in 1934, 1974 and 2003.
