Top slalom racer Craig Gorder passes away
Ski Racing has learned of the loss of Craig Gorder, a top ranked American slalom skier in 1973.
Gorder, a Utah mountaineer and businessman, passed on June 23. He tallied two World Cup top 10 finishes, both eighths, in '73, one at Mont Ste., Anne and one at Vipiteno.
The University of Utah library's Special Collections department has a living tribute section honoring his career as a skier and back country explorer.
He is survived by a brother, his wife, two daughters and a grand child.
His business, Omega Pools, is well known along the Wasatch range having produced thousands of pools, water features and ponds.
He was 60 years old.
