Head Skis announced today (May 4) that 31-year-old Austrian Speed specialist Georg Streitberger has joined the company’s World Cup Rebels team.

Streitberger has landed on the World Cup podium four times since his debut in 2000 including two victories. He has also represented Austria at two Winter Olympic Games.

“Streiti is a great addition to our team. I have been wanting to add an Austrian to the speed team and here he is now,” said Head World Cup Rebels Race Manager, Rainer Salzgeber.

Streitberger signed a two-year contract and will use Head skis, boots and bindings through the 2014 Sochi Games.

“In the last couple of years Head celebrated great results in the speed disciplines,” said Streitberger. “I am happy to be part of this team now and to take the chance to establish myself among the world’s top racers in Super G and Downhill.”

Streitberger joins the Head World Cup Rebels team that boasts top World Cup talent including Lindsey Vonn, Bode Miller, Ted Ligety, Aksel Lund Svindal and Julia Mancuso.
