GS skis claim Swiss victim
So much for safety. Swiss Vitus Lueoend crashed while testing the new GS skis Wednesday, tore his left ACL and will be off snow until fall.
According to the Swiss federation website, Lueoend fell in Samnaun while testing and a subsequent MRI revealed a torn ACL as well as a meniscus injury. Surgery is scheduled Saturday by team physician Mark Kostner.
Lueoend recently was crowned the Swiss downhill champion.
